What Claiming a Profile Actually Means

A profile claim is an authorization and product-information workflow. It is not a promotional ranking service or an editorial endorsement.

Give the right company representative control of factual information

Product information changes over time. Features launch, screenshots become outdated, integrations change, pricing pages move, and positioning evolves. Claiming gives an authorized representative a clear process for keeping factual listing information current.

HTBS may still review requested changes for accuracy, marketplace consistency, relevance, and compliance with profile guidelines before they appear publicly.

A claimed profile does not mean HTBS recommends the SaaS. Authorization confirms the relationship between the requester and the product. It does not certify product quality, performance, security, customer satisfaction, or editorial superiority.
Identity
Who is making the request? HTBS checks whether the requester is reasonably authorized to represent the company or product.
Profile
Which HTBS product page is being claimed? The request should identify the existing marketplace profile.
Accuracy
What needs to be managed? Factual product descriptions, capabilities, media, links, and other supported profile information.
Evidence
Can HTBS verify the relationship? We may use work email, official company information, website evidence, or other appropriate proof.
Boundary
What remains independent? Editorial reviews, conclusions, rankings, comparisons, and other independent HTBS judgments.
Factual profile management

What an Authorized Representative Can Help Keep Current

Supported updates should improve the accuracy and usefulness of the product profile for software buyers.

01

Company and product details

Correct the product name, company information, positioning, product status, and other supported factual information.

02

Product description

Request updates to factual descriptions of what the software does, who it serves, and the workflows it supports.

03

Features and integrations

Keep material product capabilities, integrations, and supported use cases aligned with the current product.

04

Screenshots and product media

Replace outdated visuals with appropriate logos, screenshots, interfaces, and approved product assets.

05

Official product destinations

Keep supported website, demo, pricing, signup, documentation, or contact destinations current where applicable.

06

Material product updates

Request factual changes when the SaaS materially changes, launches an important capability, or updates its product availability.

Vendor and editorial boundaries

Claiming a Profile Does Not Give Control Over HTBS Editorial Content

Vendors should be able to correct facts without being able to purchase or rewrite independent editorial judgments.

HTBS profile standard

Factual control and editorial control are deliberately separated

An authorized vendor can help keep its product information accurate. HTBS retains control over independent reviews, editorial conclusions, comparisons, recommendations, marketplace taxonomy, and other editorial decisions.

Factual corrections can be requested Vendors can identify inaccurate or outdated product facts and provide supporting information.
Product assets can be updated Current screenshots, logos, product interfaces, and other relevant product material may be submitted.
Independent review conclusions cannot be rewritten Profile access does not give a company the right to change HTBS opinions, pros and cons, conclusions, or editorial assessments.
Editorial rankings cannot be purchased or controlled Claiming does not determine positions in independent category rankings, comparisons, alternatives content, or best-software recommendations.
Claiming is not an SEO service HTBS does not promise Google rankings, backlinks, search traffic, AI citations, domain authority, or other search outcomes from profile claiming.
Traffic and conversion outcomes are not guaranteed Keeping a profile accurate can improve the user experience, but HTBS does not guarantee clicks, leads, signups, conversions, or sales.
Authorization process

How HTBS Reviews a Profile Claim

The objective is to reasonably confirm that the requester is authorized to represent the SaaS before profile-management access is provided.

01

Identify the existing profile

Send HTBS the URL of the existing product page you want to claim.

02

Provide company and requester information

Share the official company website, your work email, role, and relevant contact information.

03

HTBS reviews authorization

We compare the request with available company information and may ask for additional evidence when needed.

04

Claim status is confirmed

Once authorization is reasonably established, HTBS can confirm the claim and enable the supported profile-management workflow.

05

Future factual changes can be managed

The authorized representative can keep supported product information current, while HTBS retains editorial control over independent content.

Profile claiming FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does claiming a SaaS profile do?

Claiming establishes that an authorized representative is associated with an existing HTBS product profile and enables the supported process for maintaining factual product information.

Does claiming mean HTBS endorses our product?

No. Authorization confirms the relationship between the requester and the product. It is not an endorsement, product-quality certification, review score, recommendation, or ranking.

What information can we request to update?

Supported factual updates may include company information, product descriptions, features, integrations, use cases, screenshots, product media, and appropriate official destinations. HTBS may review requested changes before publication.

Can we change an independent HTBS review after claiming?

Vendors may identify factual inaccuracies for HTBS to review, but claiming a profile does not give a company control over independent editorial conclusions, opinions, review scores, pros and cons, or recommendations.

Can claiming improve our position in an HTBS category?

Claiming does not purchase or guarantee a category position, comparison result, alternatives placement, best-software recommendation, or another independent editorial ranking.

Does claiming provide a backlink or SEO benefit?

Profile claiming is not sold as a backlink or SEO service. HTBS does not guarantee link equity, Google rankings, indexing, search traffic, AI-search citations, or other search-engine outcomes.

How does HTBS verify authorization?

HTBS may review the company website, work email domain, the requester's company role, existing public company information, or other reasonable evidence needed to establish authorization.

Can an agency claim a profile for a client?

Yes, an agency or other representative may submit a request when it is authorized to represent the company and can provide appropriate supporting information if requested.

What if our SaaS is not listed on HTBS yet?

Use the List Your SaaS page instead. Profile claiming is intended only for products that already have an existing HTBS marketplace profile.

Does HTBS guarantee claim approval?

No. HTBS may request additional verification, reject unauthorized requests, or decline a claim when the relationship between the requester and the product cannot be reasonably established.
